Songs for Young Lovers is the eighth studio album recorded by Frank Sinatra; it was recorded in the early November of 1953. This is also his first album released by way of Capitol Records, following a few single releases in the early 1950s.

Nelson Riddle conducted all eight the tracks within the original album, though the album was arranged by George Siravo. The album features such hits as "They Can't Take That Away from Me" and "My Funny Valentine".

In 1960 the album was released on an LP forman with four new tracks: "Someone To Watch Over Me", "My One And Only Love", "It Worries Me", and "I Can Read Between the Lines". Later in a CD release, combined with the 1954 album Swing Easy!, Songs for Young Lovers was re-released with tracks from Swing Easy!.

Reception[]

Allmusic gave the album a four and a half out of five stars, claiming "Sinatra and Riddle create an intimate, romantic atmosphere on the record, breathing new life into standards." Sinatra and Riddle's new found freedom gave the album detail and complexity compared the both's respective arrangements previously.[1]
